Why did we merge templates and custom builds into one website?

As of 26 August 2026 there is only one website product: €199 setup, €99 per month, ten pages included, live within 2 weeks. Here is exactly what changed.

What changed about our website today?

As of 26 August 2026, there is only one website product left: no more choice between a cheaper template line and a pricier custom track, just one site for everyone, for €199 setup and €99 per month. Every site that goes live today, or is already running, runs on this logic.

Before, you had to pick first: website-template (€99 setup, €89 per month) or website-custom (from €395 setup, €119 per month). Both products, and the choice between them, are gone. What remains is one slug, website, at one price.

What does the website cost now, and what did it cost before?

The website now costs €199 setup and €99 per month, with a 6-month minimum and cancel monthly after that. Before, you paid €99 setup and €89 per month for the template line, or from €395 setup and €119 per month for custom, depending on which track you picked before you knew what you needed.

| What | Price until 26-08-2026 | Price from 26-08-2026 | | --- | --- | --- | | Website | €99 + €89/mo (template) or from €395 + €119/mo (custom) | €199 setup + €99/mo | | Content pages included | 6 | 10 | | Extra page | €49 setup + €10/mo | €29 setup + €10/mo |

Ten content pages are now included, up from six. Beyond that, a page now costs €29 instead of €49 one-off, plus the same €10 per month as before. Home, Contact, the Blog page, a Sitemap, your terms and your privacy policy always come free and never count.

What happens to a change on a running site?

One change per month still comes with the rent, a single extra change costs €20 and is a rate, not a product. New is the Changes bundle: €0 setup and €60 per month for five changes instead of one. It replaced an earlier five-pack for €50, which turned out unsellable without a checkbox somewhere.

Standalone modules keep existing alongside the website: forms (€99 + €29/mo), a booking calendar (€99 + €39/mo, new), a dashboard and a kanban board (each €99 + €39/mo), a client portal and a database (each €149 + €49/mo), and a webshop (€199 + €59/mo, new). What used to be called "custom", such as a webshop or a link to existing software, is now just a module you tick instead of a separate track.

Why one price instead of two lines?

Because the template-versus-custom split forced a visitor to make a product choice before they knew what they needed, the exact same objection we had already removed four months earlier by scrapping four page tiers.

The trade is now a picker on the website page itself: it only pre-fills the page list, everything stays tickable in the page picker, and it no longer changes the price. If your trade isn't listed, you start from a blank sheet at the same €199 and €99.

There was also a pricing bug under the promise "With SEO, AEO and GEO included" in the trade picker: it only counted the one-off Findability optimisation of €395, while the promise is only delivered by the €599-per-month Findability retainer. Those two lines now stand apart in the services picker, each with its own price.

What went wrong while merging this, and what did we learn?

The services picker on the website page showed three columns during testing while the code read columns-2. The cause: a multi-column block with a fixed height on the block itself simply adds a third column once the content overflows, instead of letting the text keep flowing through two columns.

The fix was moving the height limit onto a wrapper around the block instead of the multi-column block itself, so the block keeps a free height and stays at two columns.

We also found that summariseSelection, the function that turns a chosen configuration into readable text for a quote and confirmation, took three separate untyped parameters instead of one coherent object. One forgotten call site silently dropped the entire page selection because of it, across eleven places where the same function was called. Those three parameters are now one options object, so a missing field throws a clear error instead of silently leaving a blank line in a quote.
